HOLYBRO PM07 Power Module – Power Supply and ESC Distribution for up to 8 ESCs

The HOLYBRO PM07 Power Module is a high-performance solution for centralized power supply and power distribution in UAV systems. It powers the flight controller directly from the flight battery with a regulated voltage of 5.2 V while simultaneously enabling battery voltage and current consumption monitoring via analog signals.

In addition, the PM07 features integrated power and signal distribution for up to eight ESCs. Both ESC power and control signals can therefore be routed centrally through the power module. This enables a clean and compact system layout, particularly for larger multicopter and UAV platforms.

Another key feature is the inclusion of two independent 5.2 V power outputs. These can be used to provide redundant power to the flight controller, with each output featuring independent circuitry and BEC components.

Power and Signal Distribution for up to 8 ESCs

In addition to supplying power to the flight controller, the PM07 provides centralized power and signal distribution for up to eight ESCs. This makes the power module particularly suitable for hexacopters, octocopters, and other UAV platforms with multiple propulsion units.

Redundant 5.2 V Power Supply

The HOLYBRO PM07 features two 5.2 V power outputs that can be used to provide redundant power to the flight controller. Both power paths feature independent circuitry, including dedicated BEC components.

This redundant design is particularly useful for professional UAV systems where the flight controller power supply is intended to be implemented through two separate power paths as part of the overall system architecture.

Regulated Power Supply for the Flight Controller

The PM07 Power Module provides a regulated output voltage of 5.2 V DC with a maximum output current of 3 A. Compatible flight controllers can therefore be powered directly through the power module.

Analog Voltage and Current Measurement

During operation, the PM07 measures the battery voltage and current consumption of the UAV system. The measurements are transmitted as analog signals to a compatible flight controller via a 6-pin JST-GH connector.

For 2S to 14S Batteries

The current HOLYBRO PM07 Power Module supports an input voltage range of 2S to 14S. This allows it to be used in both smaller systems and high-performance UAV platforms operating with higher battery voltages.

Note: The previous PM07 12S version has been discontinued and replaced by the current 14S version.

High Current Capability

The PM07 PCB is designed for high-current applications. The continuous rated current of the PCB is 90 A. For short periods of less than 60 seconds, the PCB can handle currents of up to 140 A.

Ideal for Flight Controllers Without Servo Headers

Thanks to its integrated ESC signal distribution, the PM07 is particularly suitable for flight controllers that do not feature conventional servo headers directly on the controller. Examples include the Pixhawk® 6C and Pixhawk® 4.

ESC signals can be distributed through the PM07, allowing for a clean and organized wiring layout even in more complex UAV configurations.

Pre-Assembled Connections

The PM07 is supplied with a pre-installed XT60 connection cable and electrolytic capacitor. The pre-assembled cables simplify integration into existing or newly developed UAV systems.

Important Note on Current Capacity

The pre-installed XT60 connector and 12 AWG wire are rated for a continuous current of 30 A and a short-term peak current of 60 A for less than 60 seconds.

The current capacity of the PM07 PCB itself is significantly higher at 90 A continuous current and 140 A peak current. If the power module is operated at higher currents, the connector and wire gauge must be appropriately selected and adapted to the actual electrical load.

Compatibility

The HOLYBRO PM07 Power Module uses an analog data output to transmit voltage and current measurements. It is therefore intended for flight controllers equipped with a compatible analog power module interface.

Important: The PM07 Power Module is not compatible with Pixhawk® 5X and Pixhawk® 6X, as these flight controllers require a digital power module. For compatible systems, the HOLYBRO PM02D Power Module can be used, for example.

PX4 and ArduPilot
