Battery Regulations

In connection with the sale of batteries and rechargeable batteries, we as a retailer are required under the German Battery Act (Gesetz über das Inverkehrbringen, die Rücknahme und die umweltverträgliche Entsorgung von Batterien und Akkumulatoren – Batteriegesetz, BattG) to inform consumers of the following:

You are legally required to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries. You may return them after use to our retail location, to a municipal collection point, or to participating local retailers.

Batteries containing hazardous substances are marked with a symbol consisting of a crossed-out wheeled bin and the chemical symbol (Cd, Hg, or Pb) of the heavy metal responsible for their classification as containing hazardous substances.
