HOLYBRO PM03D Power Module – Digital Power Supply and Power Distribution for Multicopters

The HOLYBRO PM03D Power Module combines a regulated flight controller power supply with digital voltage and current monitoring as well as extensive power distribution for ESCs and additional peripheral devices. Battery voltage and current consumption data are transmitted digitally to the flight controller via the I2C protocol using a 6-pin CLIK-Mate cable with a 2.00 mm pitch.

The HOLYBRO PM03D is designed for flight controllers with digital I2C power monitoring and is suitable for modern Pixhawk® systems such as the Pixhawk® 5X and newer generations. The power module was developed particularly for multicopter platforms such as the HOLYBRO X500 V2.

In addition to integrated XT30 and XT60 connectors, the PM03D features several regulated voltage outputs. Two 5.2 V power supplies as well as a selectable 8 V or 12 V output allow different peripheral devices, companion computers, and additional components to be powered directly through the power module.

Digital Voltage and Current Measurement

The PM03D measures battery voltage and system current consumption and transmits the measurements digitally to the flight controller via an I2C interface. Power supply and measurement data are provided through a single 6-pin CLIK-Mate connection.

Plug & Play Integration

The PM03D is designed for straightforward integration into compatible autopilot systems. When used with supported flight controllers, no additional power module setup is required in QGroundControl or Mission Planner.

Power Distribution for Motors and ESCs

Integrated XT30 connectors and additional solder pads are provided for connecting motor ESCs. This allows the PM03D to function as a centralized power distribution board within a multicopter.

Multiple Regulated Voltage Outputs

The PM03D features several integrated voltage regulators for supplying the flight controller and additional electronics. This allows different components to be powered directly through the UAV's centralized power distribution system.

5.2 V for Flight Controller and Peripheral Devices

The flight controller is powered through the 6-pin CLIK-Mate connection by a dedicated 5.2 V / 3 A BEC. An additional 5.2 V / 3 A power circuit is available for peripheral devices.

A 4-pin JST-GH connector and corresponding pin headers can be used to power companion computers or other components with 5.2 V.

Selectable 8 V / 12 V Output

For components requiring a higher supply voltage, the PM03D provides a separate output that can be configured for either 8 V or 12 V. The voltage is selected using a jumper on the power module.

This allows different peripheral devices to be powered directly through the PM03D according to their required operating voltage.

For Batteries up to 6S

The HOLYBRO PM03D is designed for a maximum input voltage corresponding to a 6S battery, making it particularly suitable for medium-sized multicopters and development platforms.

Current Capacity

The PM03D is rated for a nominal current of 60 A. For short periods of less than 60 seconds, currents of up to 120 A can be handled. The maximum measurement range of the integrated current sensor is 164 A.

Important Note on Current Capacity

The pre-installed XT60 connector and 12 AWG wire are rated for a continuous current of 30 A and a short-term current of 60 A for less than one minute.

If higher currents are required, the connector and wire gauge must be appropriately selected and adapted to the actual electrical load.
